About the Job:

Serving as part of the Chicago Family Support team, s/he provides direct supervision of the home visiting team and plans and implements the parent support groups that meet program goals. This position supports the agency’s vision, philosophy and values in the comprehensive delivery of services to young moms and their children through family support programs and activities. This position is focused on ensuring high quality implementation of home visiting meets Parents as Teachers fidelity. This position is located at our main office in the Austin neighborhood. Salary: $47,500-52,000 DOE.

 

Job Responsibilities:

50% Home Visiting Manager

  • Supervises Home Visitors to ensure all Parents as Teachers’ guidelines and IBTI benchmarks are met in the Home Visiting program, and that all Home Visitors are at case load.
  • Manages the hiring, training, and reflective supervision of the Home Visiting team.
  • Works with the Assistant Director of Family Support and Director of Performance Management on data quality.
  • Works with Supervisor to develop, implement and track progress on programmatic plans and implementation.
  • Participates in agency and program staff meetings, serving as an active member of the Family Support team and assisting in Home Visitors’ professional development opportunities.

50% Group Facilitator

  • Develops topics, curricula and other materials, focusing on parenting issues that meets Parents as Teachers’ guidelines and IBTI benchmarks.
  • Facilitates up to two Parent Supports Groups per week in collaboration with Home Visitors.
  • Makes all preparations for Parent Support Group meetings, including meal planning, parent-child activities and other necessary activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Commitment to and passion for the mission of New Moms.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
  • 2 years of experience supervising staff required.
  • 2 years of related home visiting and/or group work experience required.
  • 2 years of work in a nonprofit required.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, projects, and deadlines concurrently.
  • Endorses a Family-Centered, Trauma-Informed, Strengths-Based practice model that integrates harm reduction, motivational interviewing, executive skills, infant mental health, and positive youth development practices in working with young moms and their children required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing.
  • High attention to detail and results-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team approach model, taking individual responsibility and autonomy while also working well in roles leading and serving as part of a team.
  •  Ability to work 2 evenings per week and some weekends.
  • Must obtain Parents as Teachers training within 6 months of hire and maintain certification.
  •  Daily access to a car with valid insurance, along with valid driver’s license.
